The Current State of the Order

The current leader of the Order is Kingsley Shacklebolt. He constantly moves from one place to the next and does not reveal his location to any Order members. He communicates mainly by owl or Patronus and spends most of his time pursuing Lord Voldemort. Kingsley delivers assignments to all Order members.

Order members are being actively sought by the Ministry of Magic and considered Enemies of the Ministry. All Order members are considered extremely dangerous and will be brought in with force. (This means an Order character is not capable of walking in Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade or any other known magical location as they will be spotted.)

Order members are given assigned plots through Kingsley Shacklebolt. (A player should understand that any owl/patronus sent to their character through Kingsley is coming directly from the mods.) The assignment will include instructions on what needs to be accomplished, what other characters are involved and when it needs to be accomplished. (A follow up email from the mod account will apprise all parties involved of the outcome. If there is a duel proposed, a coin toss will determine the winner. All parties involved are expected to play out the result determined by the coin toss.)

If a character not listed as part of the Order wishes the join the Order, they must adhere to the following procedure. Only characters listed under the Order category on the Available Character page are exempt from this procedure. Involvement with the DA does not automatically grant you entrance into the Order. First, the character must be a known supporter of the Order. The character must contact a member of the Order and express interest in joining. The Order will conduct several inquires into the character's past as well as conduct surveillance on the character. Finally, a member of the Order (not the one originally contacted) will meet with the character and discuss what is expected of them. If the Order member approves of the character, the Order will discuss granting them membership into the Order. If, at any time, the Order is not satisfied with what they see or hear, the character will be Obliviated of their memories concerning the Order.

Members of the Order are not to speak of anything related to the Order beyond the Order itself. If a member of the Order is caught discussing anything related to the Order with a non member, they will be removed from the Order and, once found, Oblivated of all their Order related memories.

Almost all Order members are living in a few safehouses throughout the United Kingdom. These Safehouses are all placed under the Fidelius Charm and are only viewable by members of the Order. Kingsley Shacklebolt is the Secret Keeper for all Safehouses. It is strongly encouraged that Order members reside in these homes. Supplies are brought in each week and rationed carefully. The Order operates with limited funds. Order members are encouraged to seek Muggle employment provided it pays in cash and they go out in public under heavy disguise.

All Safehouses have been magically enhanced to provide three bedrooms.
