Game History
Up until this time, canon events still stand.
August 1, 1997: The wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour is interrupted by Kingsley's Patronus announcing that the Ministry had fallen. Moments later Death Eaters arrived capturing some and killing others.
At the same time, Death Eaters arrived at Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade declaring their dominion over the magical world. During these raids 200 men, women and children were killed. Another 100 were sent to Azkaban and accused of treason. None of these people were given a trial.
September 1, 1997: Hogwarts reopens with Severus Snape as Headmaster and the Carrows as Professors. Avery Sr. is named Minister for Magic.
December 1997: Voldemort creates two new Horcruxes to replace previously destroyed ones. One is created out of the Sorting Hat and the other is created from the Mirror of Erised. Both of these object remain at Hogwarts.
April 3, 1998: The Order of the Phoenix staged an attack on Hogwarts. Alastor Moody and Kingsley Shacklebolt managed to kill the current embodiment of Lord Voldemort. Rubeus Hagrid was killed as well as Bellatrix Lestrange and several students who were caught in the cross fire.
April 4th - July 15th, 1998: Without the presence of Lord Voldemort, The Order continues to fight. They successfully free twenty prisoners from Azkaban and kill off Lord Voldemort's army of Inferi.
July 31th, 1998: The Inner Circle of Death Eaters capture Harry Potter and use his blood to once again restore Lord Voldemort.
September 20th, 1998: Voldemort successfully places Harry under the Imperius Curse after many attempts and orders Harry to stand beside him and declare his loyalty for Lord Voldemort. Harry does so in a very public forum, articles are printed across the world.
November 11th, 1998: As a show of loyalty, Harry burns 12 Grimmauld Place to the ground. Once again, articles are printed around the world as Harry pledges his loyalty for Voldemort.
November 1998 - September 1999: With Harry Potter at his side, Lord Voldemort instructs Avery Sr to place several laws into affect. These laws include a marriage law, forbidding any pureblood from marrying a halfblood or muggleborn; a slave labor law, forcing all muggleborns to either be prisoners kept in Azkaban or slaves to Purebloods and/or Loyal Halfbloods, as well as several laws dictating what halfbloods can and cannot do. September 19th, 1999: As a "birthday present" to Hermione Granger, Harry Potter (still under the Imperius Curse) kills her parents. Harry then has the heads delivered by owl to Hermione Granger. Following this, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger go deep into hiding. Their disappearance resulted in many people losing hope and accepting the new regime.
September 20th, 1999 - July 2000: With the Order beaten into submission, thanks in part to Harry Potter's knowledge of their whereabouts and habits, Lord Voldemort reigned over the United Kingdom's magical community with relative ease. While there were small uprisings and protests, the Death Eaters were quick to quell anyone who spoke against the Dark Lord or the Ministry.
July 31st, 2000: Harry Potter is set to give a speech on loyalty and service to the Dark Lord in Diagon Alley. The Order plans an attack in order to free Harry from Voldemort's control. Their plan fails and Harry vanishes alongside Voldemort. However, the presence of the Order renews faith in the people that goodness can prevail and the public begins to push for new leadership. During this battle Nott Sr and Alastor Moody are both killed. Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin are captured and sent to Azkaban.
October 9th, 2000: Bill and Charlie Weasley assassinate the Minister, Avery Sr.
October 15th, 2000: The Ministry announces elections will be held on Janurary 28th, 2001. An aggressive campaign begins. The Ministry announces that Avery Jr will be seeking his father's position. Danielle Edgecombe also announces her candidacy. The public voices their support of Edgecombe, pleased to have a candidate without obvious politic bias.
January 28th, 2001: The election is held. Voters turn out in record number to elect Danielle Edgecombe as Minister for Magic. Her term is set to begin on date of game start.
